ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan has been informed by The Director General enforcement of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority on Wednesday (today) that the technology will be auctioned on April 7 of this year.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan during the hearing of a case regarding the auction of 3G technology licenses has sought the Audit Reports of Universal Services
Funds (USF) and record of those accounts which were not audited from last three years from the concerned officials of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
Three-member bench of apex court comprising Justice Jawwad S Khawaja, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman and Justice Mushir Alam heard the case on Wednesday.
The Director General enforcement PTA Abdul Samad informed the court that the technology will be auctioned on April 7 of this year and the announcement has been made.
Justice Jawwad remarked that billions of rupees would be submitted in national exchequer through this auction.
The court sought Attorney General’s assistance over the technical issues of the matter but he sought more time. The court observing that four months ago court had issued the notices but yet you (AG) are not ready to assist the court and adjourned the hearing till March 17.
